Barratt Homes
The project
Our input
We were engaged to carry out passive fire-protection surveys, identify areas that needed fire compartmentalisation, and install passive fire-protection systems.
This was a challenging project with a short timeframe. Each building was different, ranging from 15 floors to four floors. We also discovered further areas that needed attention not detailed in the initial Type 2 surveys.
The work included design, supply and installation of fire-protection systems such as fire-stopping and fire-sealing to mechanical and electrical services.
We dealt with over 15,000 openings on walls and ceilings in occupied properties, so had to work around the residents.
Following this project, we were awarded the coveted IFSEC Fire and Security Excellence Award for Passive Fire Protection Project of the Year.
